Isaac Eady's sophomore release continues what Isaac started, showcasing the full breadth of his multi-instrumental talents. Joined by his Third Moon bandmates and friends from Tedeschi Trucks Band, the result moves effortlessly from moments of pure bliss to edgy reflections on life, heartfelt love songs, and plenty of slinky, funky grooves along the way. Produced by Isaac Eady alongside co-producers Tyler Greenwell and Edward Joseph Jackson III (aka Ju9cey), the album unfolds as a rich, multi-genre landscape that invites listeners deeper with every track, making it nearly impossible to settle on just one favorite. As Isaac explains, “This record exists as a musical journey that starts in Africa, rolls into the West, and lands closer to New Orleans.”

Artist Statement

All of the world’s collided as I was sitting across from George Spratz at Ike‘s cultural Village in Kumasi, Ghana. It had never been clearer. For what’s felt like my whole life, I’d been on a quest to find this familiar sound. Watching George play his guitar in the style that was taught to him by Koo Nimo, i heard it. From the whirlwind of rhythms to the beautiful arpeggios and counterpuntal melodies, it all became obvious that this was the sound I’d been searching for in its most primitive form. He was playing through different time signatures and various forms of the palmwine traditional “Yaa Amponsah,” but it sounded like Tennessee. Even the land looked the same. “Yaa Amponsah,” is a song derived from the Woods, nature, and a group of people getting together to tell their stories and sing their songs much like western folk music. Though this sound was so distant, you could still hear where it came from and how it evolved. These distinctive qualities of palm wine, and eventually highlife music, are what inspired “Amponsah.” Banjo rolls, bells, and second line horns are just a few elements of the many styles brought together across continents. This record exists as a musical journey that starts in Africa , rolls into the west , and lands closer to New Orleans.
